The Blowhards.

The Blowhards.

Several years ago 3 harmonica players were thrown
together to perform on a blackboard concert at
Numeralla folk festival , that performance raised
the roof on the old packed hall with the audience
screaming for more and since then whenever and
wherever the 3 virtuosos meet up its expected by
festival audiences that the phenomenon be repeated.
The Blowhards are Don Madden who cut his teeth on
the harp blowing in dance bands and who has one of
the finest vamping styles in the country, Pete West
a multi instrumentalist who shines on the harp with
the ability to seduce an audience with soulful blues
cross harp and then have their spirits soar with
crystal clear straight harp playing jigs, reels and
melodic ballads, a polished performer, and Jim
Stubbs who plays a style as yet undefined and unique
to the Southern Monaro Country where his musical
knowledge was gained from local euphoric herb
growers , and compliments the trios internationally
flavoured, yet selective repertoire of tunes.

The Blowhards are not to be missed anywhere!
